In a video for ReitmansTV in 2016, Meghan referenced the Queen’s iconic style of “tone on tone” – wearing the same colour for her dress, jacket, hat and accessories. She insisted the look was “not just for the Queen” and that it can be fun to play around with textures. The Duchess of Sussex met Prince Harry just weeks after the video was published. In the video entitled ‘A fashion conversation with Meghan Markle’, she gives a number of tips to viewers, including the one she seems to have gained from Queen Elizabeth II. She said: “Tone on tone is not just for the Queen. “A really fun way to play around with it is to just play up the textures. “If you have different sense to touch and it adds a different dimension to each of the pieces you’re wearing, then suddenly the tones don’t look flat. She said: “Every woman should own a classic white button-down shirt. “It’s a classic but looks so chic.” In the video, Meghan can be seen trying on a wide variety of outfits. She encourages the viewer to try different styles and to wear what makes them feel “confident and beautiful”. Meghan did plenty of interviews and wrote many blog posts about style and fashion during her acting career. However, now she has taken on the Royal role of Duchess of Sussex the main source of advice her fans have is from looking at what she is pictured wearing.
